Jarmazing Products Mason Jar Foaming Soap Dispenser Lids: Size Matters
My real-world test of the Jarmazing mason jar foaming soap dispenser lids, including the 8oz jar mistake that almost ruined it.
The Jarmazing Products Mason Jar Foaming Soap Dispenser Lids are worth buying if you’ve got mason jars sitting around and want refillable foaming soap without buying new bottles every month. The pump works smoothly with no clogging, but the stem needs trimming and jar size matters more than you’d expect. Buy if you’re willing to measure your jar first.

Quick Verdict
I bought 8 ounce jars from the dollar store and still almost ruined this because my jars at home were too big for the dispenser. Once I got the jar size right, the pump put out foam in good quantity, consistent, with no hesitation or clogging.
Buy if you:
- already keep mason jars around and want a bathroom dispenser that matches
- refill a large economical hand soap bottle and want to decant it instead of rebuying bottles
- want to label multiple jars for different rooms with the included stickers
- don’t mind mixing your own 1:3 soap-to-water ratio instead of buying pre-made foaming soap
Skip if you:
- already own larger mason jars at home and assume any size will fit, because it won’t
- don’t want to cut the pump stem to length yourself
- want a dispenser you can just drop soap into without mixing a ratio

Jar Size Is the First Gotcha
Smaller mason jars work; most larger jars at home won’t fit the pump seat. I grabbed 8 ounce jars, and I had other mason jars at home already, except those were too large and the dispenser didn’t fit. These mason jar products are not all universal size. If you’re searching for mason jar products to try this with, start with the smaller jars first and work up, not the other way around.
Cutting the Stem Took About Ten Seconds
Cut the stem to jar height, a 10-second trim that’s the only assembly required. Ten seconds, one cut, done. I did fumble it though. I had two pump dispensers in the kit and wound up grabbing the wrong one after I’d already trimmed the other one to size. Small mix-up, easy fix, but it’s the kind of thing that’ll slow you down for a minute if you’re not paying attention to which lid you cut.
My Soap Mix Was One Part Soap, Three Parts Water
Mix one part liquid hand soap to three parts water; refill from a large economical bottle instead of buying foaming soap refills. I pour my soap in first, grab the water, fill the jar almost to the top but not quite, leaving a little air space, then shake it up. I use a large economical refillable hand soap for this, so once the jar’s done I can put the big bottle back in the cabinet and have it ready for the next jar or to top one off. That part is where the actual money-saving happens. You’re not buying individual foaming soap refills, you’re decanting from one big bottle over and over.
How the Pump Actually Performs
The pump delivers good quantity and consistency with zero hesitation or clogging. There’s a smooth pump to it, I like that there’s no hesitation, and it does not clog up. For a dispenser lid that costs a fraction of buying new foaming soap bottles every month, that’s a meaningful result, not just a decorative upgrade.
Where It Won’t Work
Oversized jars won’t fit; the pump simply won’t seat on a mouth wider than 2.5 inches. If your jar’s mouth or body doesn’t match what the lid is built for, the pump simply won’t seat right, and you’re stuck re-shopping for the correct size jar before you can use the kit at all. Jarmazing lists these as fitting regular mouth Ball and Kerr jars at a 2.5 inch opening, so measure before you buy your jars, not after.
Where This Sits Next to Plastic Pump Bottles
The rust-free plastic pump feels noticeably sturdier than the flimsy pumps that come stock on store-bought foaming bottles, the ones that start sticking or dribbling after a few weeks. That’s the real competition here, and this lid wins it.
Who Actually Wants This on Their Counter

The aesthetic works; included labels let you set up one dispenser per room. The stickers are probably one of the best parts, you grab a label, put it on the jar, and that tops it off. I’m planning to buy another mason jar and do a few more, one for the bathroom, one for the utility room. The setup is maybe five minutes total, one stem cut, one soap mix, and after that it just sits on your counter looking like you have your bathroom together. If that trade-off sounds annoying rather than satisfying, buy a pre-filled bottle and move on. Everyone else should grab this.
Pros
- Pump puts out foam in pretty good quantity, pretty consistent, no hesitation
- Does not clog up
- Comes with two pump dispensers in the kit
- Waterproof labels included for organizing multiple jars
- Refillable from a large soap bottle, cutting down on buying individual refills
Cons
- Not universal size, larger mason jars I already owned didn’t fit
- Have to cut the pump stem yourself to match your jar
- Easy to grab the wrong pump if you’ve already trimmed one
Frequently Asked Questions
Will these fit a wide mouth mason jar?
No, these are built for regular mouth mason jars at a 2.5 inch opening, like standard Ball and Kerr jars. If you’ve got wide mouth jars at home, they won’t seat the pump correctly.
Can I use store-bought foaming soap instead of mixing my own?
Yes, these lids work with store-bought foaming soap too, not just DIY mixes. I went with my own mix because I was already refilling from a large soap bottle, but you don’t have to.
Do the pump lids rust over time?
They’re built rust-free and BPA-free plastic, so they shouldn’t corrode the way metal pump lids do in a damp bathroom. That’s one reason they hold up better than some of the pumps that come stock on store-bought soap bottles.
How many mason jars does one pack cover?
This pack comes with 2 pump dispenser lids, so you can set up two jars right out of the box. I’m already planning to buy another jar and pack to add a third for the utility room.
