Ora’s Amazing Herbal Blissful Earth Talc Free Body Dusting Powder is worth buying if you ditched baby powder over talc and live somewhere hot and humid. It’s a 2.5 oz arrowroot and kaolin clay powder, corn free and grain free, very fine with no graininess. Buy.

How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.

Quick Verdict

I put a little on my palm expecting something chalky and got the opposite. It’s very, very fine, no roughness, no graininess at all. If you walked away from talc and still need something for a hot, humid climate, this is the swap.

Buy if you:

  • Were a lifelong baby powder user and quit over the talc news
  • Live somewhere hot and humid and hate that sticky, trickling feeling
  • Also want corn free and grain free, not just talc free
  • Want one jar covering foot powder, after waxing, and dry shampoo duty

I Quit Baby Powder and Then Sweat Through a Summer

I needed an actual replacement, not just a clean-label placeholder. That search landed on Ora’s Amazing Herbal Blissful Earth Talc Free Body Dusting Powder. I live in a really hot climate and it’s pretty humid, and just being sticky, that rising feeling of sweat trickling down, is not something I wanted to put up with. So the replacement had to work, not just be clean on paper.

I tapped a little onto the palm of my hand on camera for one reason. If you’ve got sticky palms, powder is the thing that shows you instantly whether it’s any good. This one is very, very fine. No roughness. No graininess. It would go on completely fine with a puff, and the scent is light enough that I’d call it generally gender neutral.

What a 2.5 oz Jar Buys You

Five jobs in one jar, which is where the math gets interesting. The brand lists it as dry shampoo, dusting powder, foot powder, after waxing powder, after shave powder, and after shower powder. That’s the pitch, and it’s the reason a 2.5 oz tube isn’t as small as it sounds. If you were buying a separate foot powder and a separate dry shampoo, you already know what the shelf looks like.

The base is arrowroot and kaolin clay. Not cornstarch. That matters more than people assume, because a lot of the talc free body powder on Amazon just swaps talc for corn, and corn free and grain free was part of what I wanted. It’s made in the company’s own New Jersey facility by their own team, which is about as short as an ingredient chain gets.

One thing to watch on the buying side: the price on this one moves around a lot. It’s sitting at about its usual level over the past three months, but it has dropped well under that before. Worth checking the live price rather than assuming. Current pricing is on the product page.

No, It Doesn’t Feel Sticky

Clay-based powders look denser in the jar than talc, and arrowroot is off-white where baby powder was bright white, so your eyes tell you it’s going to feel heavier. Your skin disagrees. No drag, no clumping, nothing to rub in; it settles the same way talc did, which is the only test that matters.

The scent throws people too. Vetiver, lavender, and clary sage reads floral on a label. On skin it’s quiet and earthy, and nobody in my house would have guessed it was a women’s product off the scent alone.

Where This Sits Against the Other Talc Free Options

Most of the competition is cornstarch in a shaker bottle. That’s the category. Go looking for talc free body powder and you’ll find a wall of big-brand cornstarch formulas with synthetic fragrance, plus a smaller tier of clay and arrowroot blends from small makers. This one is firmly in that second tier: woman owned, small family run, cruelty free, biodegradable tube packaging.

It isn’t a huge seller, and I think that’s worth saying plainly. Amazon ranks it around #14,609 in Beauty & Personal Care right now, down from a 90 day average near #12,228, so it’s moving a bit slower than it was. More than 400 people bought it in the past month. That’s a steady niche product, not a viral one. For a small New Jersey operation making it in house, that reads about right.

The Considered Verdict

It solved the exact problem I bought it for. I wanted out of talc without losing the dry, friction-free feeling it gave me in humid weather, and after a summer of testing this is the one I kept reaching for. The texture is the whole argument. Powders live or die on how fine they are, and this one has no graininess whatsoever.

The gripe: there’s no puff in the package, and this is a powder that clearly wants one. Tapping it from the tube works, but you’ll get a cleaner, lighter application with a puff you supply yourself. Budget for that. Also take the brand at its word that this isn’t the cheap option. You’re paying for arrowroot and kaolin instead of corn, and for a short supply chain.

Talc-free body dusting powder on bathroom vanity counter with cotton rounds and oils nearby

If you’re in the same spot I was, lifelong powder user, suddenly uneasy about talc, living somewhere the humidity doesn’t quit, this is an easy one to try.

Pros

  • Very, very fine texture with zero roughness or graininess on the palm
  • Talc free and also corn free and grain free, based in arrowroot and kaolin clay
  • Light essential oil scent that reads gender neutral
  • One 2.5 oz jar covers foot powder, after waxing, dry shampoo, and after shower use
  • Made in the company’s own New Jersey facility, biodegradable tube

Cons

  • No puff included, and the powder is fine enough that it really calls for one
  • The brand states plainly it isn’t the least expensive powder available
  • Scent is light, so it won’t satisfy anyone who wants a strong fragrance

Frequently Asked Questions

Can it go in shoes?

Yes. The brand lists naturally odor preventative ingredients for all areas of the body and for shoes too. Shake a little into each shoe the same way you’d use a drugstore foot powder.

Will arrowroot leave white marks on dark clothes?

Any white powder can transfer if you overapply, and that’s true of talc too. Use less than you think you need and let it settle before dressing. It’s biodegradable and brushes out of fabric easily.

Is it safe for people with gluten or corn sensitivities?

It’s labeled talc free, corn free, grain free, gluten free, and paraben free, with no synthetic fragrance. Ingredients are safety tested. If you have a specific essential oil sensitivity, check the vetiver, lavender, and clary sage first.

How does it work as dry shampoo on darker hair?

Use a very small amount at the roots and work it in thoroughly. It’s a white powder with no tint, so darker hair needs a lighter hand and more blending than blonde does. That’s a limitation of every uncolored powder dry shampoo, not this one specifically.

Half a star comes off for the missing puff, because a powder this fine deserves a proper applicator and you have to go buy one. Skip it if you want a loud fragrance or the cheapest jar on the shelf. Include a puff and swap the tube for a shaker top and this is a five.
