Metal Doorbell Cover No Soliciting Sign Review
A metal doorbell cover that swings over the button and flips between No Soliciting and Do Not Disturb. Here is what it does and what it does not.
The Metal Doorbell Cover No Soliciting Sign is worth buying if door-to-door sellers and delivery rings are interrupting your work or a sleeping baby. It swings on a hinge to physically cover the button, comes with three swappable aluminum signs, a screwdriver and adhesive tape, and installs without drilling. Buy.

How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.
Quick Verdict
Three metal signs, one screwdriver, and a hinge you swing left or right over the button. That hinge is the whole product, and it’s the part that makes this better than a flat sticker sign. The hinge makes the difference between a sign people ignore and one they have to move to use the button.
Buy if you:
- work from home and get door-to-door sellers mid-call
- have a baby napping and a doorbell that wakes them
- want to swap between No Soliciting and Do Not Disturb by mood or hour
- rent and can’t drill into the door frame
Skip if you:
- need it mounted flush up against the button, the hinge bracket needs clear space to the left or right to swing into
- have a doorbell set into deep trim or a recessed housing, it’s one of the 5% the listing doesn’t claim to fit
- expect it to block deliveries, it stops walk-up solicitors, it doesn’t stop a driver who’s going to knock anyway

A Hinge, Not a Sticker
I squeezed the hinge and swung the sign away from the button, and that’s the moment the whole thing made sense to me. Every other no soliciting sign I’ve seen just sits flat on the door and gets ignored. This Metal Doorbell Cover No Soliciting Sign physically parks itself over the button. Someone has to move it to ring. That’s a different kind of deterrent than text on a wall.
Swing it left, the button’s covered. Swing it right, the button’s open for people you actually want ringing. Same hardware, two states.
What the Kit Gets You for the Money
Three aluminum signs, a screwdriver, spare screws and adhesive tape, which is more in the box than I expected for a doorbell cover this small. You’re not buying one message, you’re buying a frame with interchangeable plates. No Soliciting during the workday, Do Not Disturb when the baby’s down.
On price: it’s currently near its 90-day average, but it has dipped noticeably below that, so the live price is worth a click before you assume today’s number is the floor. The Amazon rank has slipped to #7,679 from a 90-day average of #4,595, but over 1,000 people bought one last month, steady demand, not a viral spike that’s already cooling.

Peel, Stick, Done
No drilling, peel the adhesive and stick the bracket left, right, or above the button. The vertical orientation option matters more than it sounds: plenty of doorbells sit on trim too narrow for a horizontal arm, and without it this cover wouldn’t fit half the Ring installations I’ve seen.
Here’s the part worth thinking about before you order: the hinge needs somewhere to swing. If your button is wedged into deep molding or a recessed housing, the arm has nowhere to go, and the adhesive wants a flat clean surface to grab. That’s where the 5% the listing doesn’t claim to fit lives. Measure the flat area beside your button first.
The adhesive is also doing all the work holding a metal plate to your exterior trim. Clean the spot before you stick it.
Changing the Sign Takes a Screwdriver
The signs swap out with screws, not magnets, and the little screwdriver for it is in the box. You back the screws out, lift the plate, drop in Do Not Disturb or No Soliciting, screw it back in. It’s a two-minute job, not a one-second flip.
So think of the sign choice as semi-permanent and the hinge as the thing you move daily. If you were hoping to flip messages twice a day on a whim, that’s not how this works. Pick your message, mount it, then just swing the cover open or closed as needed.
The upside of screws is that nothing shakes loose in wind or falls off in rain. Alloy and aluminum, waterproof and UV-resistant, which is the right call for something living outdoors full time. Spare screws are included, which tells me the maker knows people lose them.
Would I Put One on My Own Door? Yes
Walk-up solicitors see the cover and move on without you opening the door or saying anything. That’s the actual value. You’re not answering, you’re not explaining, you’re not getting into it with anyone selling solar panels.

It won’t stop a delivery driver who’s knocking regardless. It won’t stop the one guy who moves the cover out of spite. But for a product this small, with three swappable metal signs and no holes in your trim, the trade-off is obvious: a two-minute install beats every conversation you’d otherwise have with someone selling solar panels. If doorbell interruptions are wrecking your focus or your kid’s nap, there’s nothing easier to put on a door.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it block my Ring doorbell camera?
It’s sized to cover the button, not the lens, and it mounts beside the doorbell rather than over the whole unit. Check where your camera eye sits relative to the button before you stick the bracket. On a tall Ring unit with the camera up top and the button low, you’ve got clearance.
Does it need an app, battery or wiring?
None of the three. It’s a mechanical metal plate on a hinge with adhesive backing, no power, no pairing, no account, no subscription. Nothing to update and nothing to charge.
Can I take it off later without wrecking my door frame?
It’s adhesive-mounted with no drilling, so there are no holes to patch, but double-sided tape on painted trim can lift finish when you pull it. Warm the tape before removing and peel slow. Renters should test a small spot first.
How do I clean it once it’s been outside a while?
Wipe it with a damp cloth. The signs are aluminum, waterproof and UV-resistant, so rain and sun won’t fade the printing or rust the plate. Skip abrasive cleaners on the printed face.
