I tested CALLSMILE teeth whitening strips for a heavy coffee drinker. Results came slower than other reviews claimed, but they came.

The First Application Did Nothing. That Surprised Me.

CALLSMILE whitening strip partially peeled, showing mint gel detail in macro close-up

I expected wider, whiter teeth after the very first strip, and for me that just didn’t happen. I’d watched quite a few people review these CALLSMILE teeth whitening strips, and a lot of them showed instant results. Mine took a different path. Maybe I drink way more coffee than the other reviewers, because it took me until roughly the fifth use before I could actually see a change. If you drink three or four cups a day like I do, budget for five uses before you see anything.

So if you’re a heavy coffee drinker like me, set your expectations to patience, not overnight. The results come. They just took a little bit longer for me.

What You Get In The Box

14 treatments, each pair sealed in its own foil packet, so strip 14 is as fresh as strip 1, which matters if you’re stretching the box across more than two weeks. The packaging is compact enough to toss in a gym bag without anything getting crushed or contaminated.

The strips themselves are a thin filament that sits right on your teeth. The larger strip goes on the bottom teeth and the smaller one goes up top, which is easy to mix up the first time. They come in two flavors, mint and coconut. The whitening runs on hydrogen peroxide, and you leave each pair on for 30 minutes.

Results Showed Up Around The Fifth Use

Visible whitening appeared around use five, with clearer results by use seven. That’s the number that matters here. Not day one. Not the glossy before-and-after other reviewers post. Five uses in, the change was there, and by seven it was clearer.

I went the full 30 minutes every time, which the brand recommends. I didn’t cut it short, and I think that matters if you want the strips to do their job. The pace of results was actually a lot better than I feared once I got past the first couple of underwhelming sessions. For a heavy coffee drinker, slow-but-real beats fast-but-fake any day.

One thing I’ll give them: no sensitivity issues on my end. These are built for sensitive teeth, and across seven 30-minute sessions I never hit that zingy nerve pain some whitening products cause.

Peeling Them Off The Backing Was The Fiddly Part

Peeling the strips cleanly off their plastic backing was the trickiest step; I tore two trying to rush it. That was the one real friction point. The strips sit on a thin plastic container piece, and for me removing them cleanly was a little more difficult than I expected. A couple of times I fought to get them off in one piece.

Here’s the flip side, though. Once you get the strips actually on your teeth, there’s no problem whatsoever. They really hold in place very well, actually a lot better than I anticipated. You can talk, move around, go about 30 minutes without them sliding. So the annoyance is only at the front end, in that peel-off step. Learn the trick of pulling slowly and you’ll tear far fewer of them.

Who These Strips Actually Fit

Buy these if you drink coffee daily, have sensitive teeth, and can commit to five-plus consecutive uses. If you drink coffee every morning like I do, you’re fighting a constant re-stain, so a strip that works gently over a week or two makes sense. The sensitive-teeth formula is the real draw here, no pain over seven full sessions.

They’re also a fit if you want a mess-free process. No rinsing, no residue, just peel off when the 30 minutes are up. If you want an instant one-and-done result before a party tomorrow, these aren’t that. Give them the days.

Advice Before You Start

The urge to quit after day one is real, I felt it. Don’t. Uses one through four are where heavy coffee drinkers will see nothing and assume the strips don’t work. Use five is where they start proving themselves.

Pull the strips off the plastic backing slowly and patiently. That’s where I tore a couple. Match the bigger strip to your bottom teeth and the smaller one up top so you’re not re-adjusting mid-session. And commit to the full 30 minutes, I don’t think the shortcut would have gotten me even the results I got.

Pros

  • Real whitening showed up around the fifth use, even for a heavy coffee drinker
  • Zero sensitivity across seven full 30-minute sessions
  • Strips hold in place very well once applied, better than I anticipated
  • Streamlined packaging that protects each pair in its own packet
  • No-rinse, no-residue removal, plus mint and coconut flavor options

Cons

  • Peeling strips off the plastic backing was fiddly and tore a couple
  • No visible result after the first application, unlike other reviews
  • Slower payoff if you drink a lot of coffee, patience required

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do CALLSMILE whitening strips take to work?

For me, around the fifth application. The brand says visible results in as little as 7 days, but as a heavy coffee drinker I needed a few more uses than that before the change was clear. If you drink less coffee, you may see it sooner.

Do these hurt if you have sensitive teeth?

No, I had no sensitivity across seven full 30-minute sessions. These are formulated specifically for sensitive teeth, and that held true in my testing. That’s the strongest reason to pick them over a harsher kit.

How long do you leave the strips on?

30 minutes per session. I went the full 30 every time and wouldn’t cut it short. Set a timer and peel them off once it’s done.

Do you need to rinse after using them?

No rinsing needed. You just peel them off and there’s no sticky residue left behind. That’s one of the cleaner parts of the process.

Which strip goes on top and which goes on bottom?

The larger strip goes on your bottom teeth and the smaller one goes on top. It’s easy to reverse them the first time, so check before you apply.

Do the strips stay in place while you wear them?

Yes, they hold very well, better than I anticipated. Once they’re on your teeth you can talk and move around for the full 30 minutes without them sliding. The only tricky part is getting them off the plastic backing before applying.

How many treatments come in a box?

14 treatments, which is 28 strips total (an upper and lower for each day). That’s a 14-day plan if you use one treatment daily.

Are these a good option for coffee and wine stains?

Yes, they’re aimed right at coffee, wine, and tobacco stains. As a heavy coffee drinker I saw them work, just on a slower timeline than lighter drinkers might. Ongoing coffee habits mean you’ll likely want to repeat treatments over time.

Can I use these instead of a whitening pen or gel kit?

These strips are a simpler, lower-effort alternative to a teeth whitening pen or gel kit. You skip the tray and application mess, but you trade off the fine control a pen gives you around individual teeth. For everyday coffee stains and sensitive teeth, the strip approach worked fine for me.

3.8/5
Final Rating
Loses points because the first application showed nothing and peeling the strips off the backing was a fight. But no sensitivity across seven 30-minute sessions and real whitening by use five earns back most of it. Skip these if you need overnight results before an event. Faster payoff for heavy coffee drinkers would push this to a five.
