IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick: No Tug, No Fight With Liner or Mascara
A cream shadow stick that applies like a big crayon, blends down easily, and stays put even with sweat. My take after going through a couple.
The IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick is worth buying if your lids are sensitive, oily, or just tired of being dragged on. It applies like a big crayon, blends down with a fingertip, and holds through sweat. Buy it if one-swipe eye makeup is the goal.

Quick Verdict
I’ve gone through a couple of these, which is the only review stat that really counts. It applies like a big crayon, blends down with a fingertip, and even with a little bit of sweat it’s not going to drip. My eyes really don’t need that extra tug, and this one doesn’t give it.
Buy if you:
- have lids that get irritated by dragging a brush or a powder shadow around
- want one swipe in the morning instead of a shadow plus a separate primer
- wear eyeliner and mascara and need a shadow that won’t fight with either
- sweat during the day and still want the color sitting where you put it
Skip if you:
- want a dramatic standout lid color, because the light pink I use doesn’t stand out much on medium-toned skin
- prefer to build complex multi-shade looks from a palette rather than one or two sticks
- want to buy once and be done, since experimenting with shades means buying more than one

It Applies Like a Big Crayon
That’s the whole product in one sentence. Most cream shadows either drag the lid or go tacky and pick up your liner an hour later, the IT Cosmetics Superhero No-Tug Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick does neither. It’s a twist-up stick: you draw it across the lid like a crayon, blend it with a fingertip, and you’re done. No brush, no pot, no fallout on your cheek.
The box is pretty kind of svelte. Nothing precious about it. The useful part is that the color is true to the outside of the stick, so what you see on the shelf is what lands on your lid. Mine is a very light pink. On my medium-toned skin it does not stand out too much, but it’s really pleasant and it brightens my eye.
Where the Superhero Tug Stick Sits Next to a Palette
This replaces two products, not one. A powder palette usually needs a primer underneath if your lids are oily, then a brush, then a blending brush. The superhero tug stick has the primer built in, so the swipe is the whole routine.
The trade is range. Twelve shades in pearl and matte is plenty of choice, but each one is a separate purchase, and a palette gives you eight at once. I use two colors sometimes. Sometimes I use one. If you’re the type who builds a cut crease every morning, a palette still wins. If you want your eyes to look awake in fifteen seconds, this is the better tool.
One thing worth knowing before you buy: the price on this one moves a lot. Right now it’s sitting a little above where it’s been for the past three months, and it’s been considerably cheaper at points in the past. Check the live price rather than assuming.

The First Swipe
Uncap, twist, draw across the lid, blend with a fingertip. That’s it. It goes on smooth and it does not tug. My eyes really don’t need that extra tug, and that’s the part of this I keep coming back to. The cream is soft rather than waxy, so it doesn’t catch on the skin the way a harder stick does.
And if you want it lighter, you just blend it down. It’s very blendable right after application. It’s just really kind of an easy, easy thing to wear.
Sweat Doesn’t Move It
It’s waterproof and it holds. Even if you’ve got a little bit of sweat going, it’s not going to drip. No running down into the crease, no smudge arriving on the lower lid by lunch.
The layering is the other half of this. It doesn’t fight with my eyeliner. It doesn’t fight with my mascara. It doesn’t oversplash. That’s a bigger deal than it sounds, because a cream shadow that stays tacky will pick up your liner and smear the whole lid together. This one sets and then leaves the rest of your eye alone.
Durability of the product itself: I’ve gone through a couple of these. They get used up rather than dried out, which is the right way for a makeup product to end.
Caffeine, Collagen, and the Tri-Peptide Complex
The formula contains caffeine, hydrolyzed collagen, tri-peptide complex, and ceramides, not just pigment. Caffeine to brighten the skin, hydrolyzed collagen, a tri-peptide complex, and ceramides. IT Cosmetics calls these lid-loving ingredients, which is marketing language, but the formula being skin-treatment-adjacent is why the stick feels soft rather than dry when it sits on you all day.
The No-Tug Technology is the mechanical part. The cream softens enough on contact that it releases onto the lid instead of being pushed around on it. That’s the difference between a shadow stick that drags your eyelid skin sideways and one that doesn’t. Combine it with the built-in primer and you get the creaseless part: the shadow isn’t sitting on bare oily skin, it’s sitting on its own base.
IT Cosmetics products have consistently performed well for my needs, and this one is the reason I keep coming back to the line specifically for eye products. I’ve gone through two of these sticks without once reaching for a separate primer, which is the clearest endorsement I can give a formula that promises to replace one.
Get a Couple Shades, Experiment
Buy two, not one. One shade gets you a wearable everyday lid. Two gets you depth in the outer corner, and because they blend into each other with a fingertip you don’t need a brush to transition them. My light pink is a great brightener for my eye and I’ve enjoyed it, but it’s a brightener, not a statement.

On shade picking, lean on the fact that the color is true to the outside of the stick. You don’t have to guess. If you’re medium-toned like me, a light pink reads as lift rather than color. If you want something people notice, go a step deeper than you think you need.
Pros
- Applies like a big crayon, smooth, with no tug on the lid
- Very blendable right after the swipe, easy to knock the intensity down
- Waterproof enough that a little sweat doesn’t make it drip
- Doesn’t fight with eyeliner or mascara layered over it
- Color on the outside of the stick is true to what goes on
Cons
- The light pink doesn’t stand out much on medium-toned skin, so it’s a brightener rather than a visible color
- Getting a layered look means buying more than one stick, since each shade is sold on its own
- Price swings a lot, and right now it’s above its recent average
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you get it off at the end of the day?
You’ll want a proper eye makeup remover, because it’s a waterproof formula. Plain water and a face wash won’t take it cleanly. Treat it like you’d treat waterproof mascara.
Should I patch test it first?
If you’ve reacted to eye products before, yes, swipe a bit on your inner forearm and leave it a day. The formula is pitched at sensitive eyes and oily lids, but caffeine, collagen and peptides are still active ingredients and everyone’s skin has its own opinion.
Does it work as a base under powder shadow?
Yes, that’s what the “eye shadow base” part of the name is about. It has a primer built in, so a powder laid over it has something to grip. I mostly wear it on its own because the whole point for me is skipping steps.
Will it dry out in the tube?
Not in my experience. I’ve used up a couple of these rather than thrown any away. Keep the cap on tight and don’t leave it in a hot car, same as any cream product.

If your lids are oily, sensitive, or you just want your eye makeup done in fifteen seconds flat, this stick earns its place. Buy the shade closest to your skin tone and a second one a step deeper, you’ll get more out of the two together than either one alone.
