The Pop Is the Whole Trick

Pull two of these apart and they make that popping sound. That’s the moment. You can see the looks on kids faces the second it happens, and then they do it again, and again. That’s really what the BUNMO Bath Toys Suction set is selling, and it works.

So I pulled them out of the bag to show them on camera and the first thing you notice is the texture. Soft silicone, kind of grippy. Ten pieces, five different shapes, a lot of vibrant colors. You can put them together and make different designs, big figures, whatever the kid’s head comes up with. It’s one of those busy toys. That’s the job description and it does it.

Where These Bath Toys Sit Against Everything Else in the Tub

Most bath toys are either squirters or floaters, and both end up moldy or scattered across the tub floor. The suction category is different: these stick to a vertical surface, so play happens at eye level instead of underwater.

BUNMO is the name people land on first here. That’s not a novelty item, that’s a repeat purchase category.

What separates these from the cheap knockoff suction toys is the connect, build, create angle. They stick to each other, not just the wall. That’s the part that stretches play past ninety seconds.

Cleaning Them Is a Non-Event

Solid silicone, no holes, so there’s nothing for mildew to hide inside. That’s the single biggest ownership difference versus a rubber duck.

They’re dishwasher safe, and the mesh bag doubles as the drying setup. Toss them in wet, hang the bag, done. No consumables, no batteries, nothing to replace later.

The suction isn’t automatic, and nobody tells you that

Wet the cups first: dry suction is nearly useless, water locks them solid to the wall. That’s the part parents get wrong before they own them. You get them a little bit wet and it really increases the suction of the cups, and suddenly they’re locked onto the tub wall.

So if you hand these to a kid in the living room on a dry window, the first reaction might be a shrug. Wet them first. That detail matters more than it sounds, it changes the whole first impression. Same goes for the surface: they want smooth and non-porous. Textured fiberglass tub walls won’t hold them nearly as well as flat tile or acrylic, and that’s worth a quick look at your own bathroom before you buy.

Also, these are marked ages 3+ and built non-mouthable. That’s a real limit, not marketing. If you’ve got a one-year-old in the tub, this isn’t the set for that bath.

What Ten Pieces Buys You

Ten pieces across five shapes is enough for actual building, and that’s the threshold that matters. A four-piece set is a fidget toy. Ten gets you towers, figures, patterns on the wall.

Compared to what else that money buys in the toy aisle, this one has no screen, no batteries, and no expiration. My kids are grown but now we’ve got grandkids in the house, and the toys that survive are the dumb ones that don’t need charging. These land in that group.

Opening the Bag, First Bath

There’s no setup. They come in the mesh carry bag, you rinse them, you hand them over.

The first bath is where you find out if your kid is a builder or a popper. Some go straight to sticking them on the wall in a line. Some just pull them apart over and over for the sound. Both count, and either way, you stop having to perform at bath time. That’s the actual value here.

Buy the Bag, Not Just the Toys

The carry bag is the feature I’d underline for anyone deciding. It’s why these travel and other bath toys don’t.

You’re visiting grandma’s house, the kids are taking a bath in an unfamiliar tub, and it’s always great to take some of their favorite toys with them. Bag goes in the diaper bag, done. Car rides and airplane tray tables work too since they stick to any non-porous surface, not only the tub.

There’s only the one 10-pack configuration to think about, so there’s no size decision to agonize over. If you’ve got two kids fighting over them, two sets is the answer. The carry bag alone tips the decision: loose bath toys scatter across the tub floor and stay there. These have a place to live, a way to travel, and they stick to the tub at grandma’s house the same as they do at home. That’s the buy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will they stick to a textured or non-slip tub floor?

No, not reliably. They need a smooth, non-porous surface, so the tub walls, tile, or a window work best. The bumpy non-slip section of the tub floor won’t hold them.

Are they safe for kids under 3?

They’re rated ages 3 and up. BUNMO builds them as a non-mouthable toy and tests them for that age range, so I’d keep them away from a toddler still putting everything in their mouth.

Do older kids actually use them, or is this a preschool-only thing?

Older kids use them plenty. The building side keeps going well past preschool, and the popping is a decent desk fidget for a grade-schooler. The age rating is a floor, not a ceiling.

Can I put them in the dishwasher with regular dishes?

Yes, they’re dishwasher safe BPA-free silicone. Top rack is the safer spot. They hold water in the cups, so give them a shake before they go back in the mesh bag.
