I Put One Foot In Before I Even Added It

I got one foot in the tub before I remembered to pour the soak in. That’s how routine this is for me now. This Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak is what I normally use, and it does a world of good for my feet. I love it because it’s loaded with essential oils, and after 30 to 45 minutes in the water my feet feel almost like they’ve been reset.

After leg day, my feet feel dense and hot, like the blood’s just sitting there. This is the thing I reach for before that feeling has a chance to settle in overnight.

Seven Oils and a Salt That Looks Like Sugar

It’s fine salt granules, and it smells like straight eucalyptus. I opened the package on camera and the scent hits you immediately, very strong. The blend packs in tea tree oil, eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint, lavender, spearmint, chamomile, and sodium bicarbonate. That baking soda is what I figure gives you the deep clean feeling on your feet.

The dosage is about an ounce for every gallon of water. I had roughly a gallon, maybe a gallon and a half in my tub, so I measured accordingly. I didn’t want to dump too much in. The 16-ounce jar stretches a long way at that rate.

What 45 Minutes Actually Does

My feet feel reinvigorated after a soak, plain and simple. The essential oils do a good job giving a deep clean, but they also moisturize, so I don’t step out with dried-out skin. I normally sit in there 45 minutes, sometimes close to an hour if I’ve got the time.

The odor angle is real too. If you work out a couple times a week, feet build up smell, and this helps cut that down. That’s a big part of why I keep using it. It does the body good and it does your feet good.

It Doesn’t Suds Up On Its Own

The one thing I do every time is add my own suds. I like a little bit of sudsy stuff in my foot bath, and this soak doesn’t foam by itself. It dissolves into the water and settles, so I could feel the granular sitting at the bottom of the tub. If you’re picturing a bubbly spa foam, that’s not what this is on its own. Not a deal-breaker for me, I just toss in a bit of soap and it works well right alongside the essential oils.

Who This Is Actually For

Monthly pedicures handle the nails; this handles everything in between. I’m not waiting 30 days for my feet to feel right again, and with a 16-ounce jar stretching to roughly 16 soaks at an ounce a pop, I don’t have to.

If you’re on your feet all day, or you train a few times a week and your feet feel beat, this is squarely for you. It’s also a good entry point if you’ve never done a foot bath and just want a treat that doubles as odor control.

How I’d Set Up Your First Soak

Measure it. Stick to about an ounce per gallon so you don’t overdo it. I keep a gallon to a gallon and a half of warm water going and one scoop is plenty. Give it 30 to 45 minutes, that’s the sweet spot for me. And if you like a bubble bath feel like I do, add your own suds because this won’t foam on its own. If you’ve never done a foot bath, this is the right one to start with, the dosage is idiot-proof and the reset you feel after 45 minutes will make it a habit faster than you’d expect.

Pros

  • Leaves my feet feeling reinvigorated after a 45-minute soak
  • Deep-cleans and moisturizes at the same time, no dried-out skin
  • Helps cut foot odor down, big win for workout feet
  • Seven essential oils, no harsh chemicals or artificial fragrance
  • One ounce per gallon means the 16-oz jar lasts a long time

Cons

  • Doesn’t suds on its own, I add my own soap for a bubble feel
  • Eucalyptus scent is very strong, could be too much for some noses
  • Granules settle at the bottom, so give the water a stir

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s actually in this tree oil foot soak?

It’s a salt-based blend with tea tree oil, epsom salt, eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, lavender, chamomile, MSM, and sodium bicarbonate. No preservatives, synthetic detergents, or artificial fragrances per the listing. The granules look like salt and dissolve in warm water.

How much do I use per soak?

About one ounce for every gallon of water. I run a gallon to a gallon and a half in my tub and use a single scoop. Don’t dump the whole thing in, a little goes a long way and the 16-ounce jar stretches.

How long should I soak my feet?

30 to 45 minutes is the range I stick to. I’ll go up to an hour if I have the time. That’s long enough for the oils to work and for my feet to come out feeling reset.

Does it help with foot odor?

Yes, it helps cut the odor down, which is one of the main reasons I keep using it. It’s especially noticeable if you work out a couple times a week and your feet build up smell. It won’t replace daily hygiene, but it takes the edge off.

Will it cure athlete’s foot or toenail fungus?

I can’t promise a cure for a diagnosed infection. The listing markets it for athlete’s foot and toenail irritations, but I’m using it as maintenance and odor control, not a medical treatment. If you have a stubborn fungal issue, treat this as a supportive soak, not a replacement for a doctor.

Does it leave your skin dry?

No, the opposite for me. The essential oils moisturize while they clean, so I step out without that tight, dried-out feeling you get from plain salt water. That’s one of the parts I like most.

Can I use it every day?

The brand positions it for daily use even on sensitive skin. I don’t soak every single day, but I use it regularly between my monthly pedicures. Start a few times a week and see how your skin responds.

Is the eucalyptus scent overpowering?

It’s strong. When I opened the package the eucalyptus hit right away. I like it, but if heavy menthol-type scents bother you, this one is not subtle.

Does it foam or make bubbles?

No, it dissolves into the water without sudsing. If you want that bubble-bath feel like I do, add a bit of your own soap. It works fine alongside the essential oils.

Loses a bit for the lack of suds and a eucalyptus scent that’s louder than some noses will want. Skip it if you expect a medical-grade fungus cure, that’s not what I use it for. A gentler scent option and a version that foams would push it to a five, but at an ounce per gallon the value is hard to argue with.
