Computer Monitor Stand Riser Review: 2-Pack Stand for Desk
I screwed together two Computer Monitor Stand Risers and put my MacBook Air on one. Here's what held up.
The Computer Monitor Stand Riser is worth buying if your desk setup is cluttered and your screen sits too low. It adjusts to three heights (4.13″, 4.92″, 5.7″), holds up to 44 lbs, and comes two to a box so you can run a laptop and a printer at the same height. Buy.

Quick Verdict
I screwed the legs on in about a minute, pushed the buttons to level all four corners, and plopped my MacBook Air down with room for a trackpad and keyboard. Very sturdy, well constructed, and the 2-pack means I’m not choosing between my laptop and my printer for desk space.
Buy if you:
- Want your laptop or monitor raised to eye level without a fixed-height stand
- Need two separate stations, like a laptop on one and a printer on the other
- Deal with a desktop that runs hot and want airflow underneath it
- Want storage space under the platform for cables or books
Skip if you:
- Only need one riser, since this ships as a 2-pack and you’ll have a spare
- Want a single continuous height adjustment instead of 3 fixed settings
- Need something taller than 5.7 inches for your particular chair and desk combo

Two Legs Short of Assembled, Then It Was Ready
A monitor stand holds your monitor. A riser holds whatever you put on it, laptop, printer, desktop tower, and lifts the whole surface instead of clamping to a screen. That’s the distinction that matters here. Each stand ships with four legs you screw in by hand, no tools needed, and you get two in the box. I put one under my MacBook Air within two minutes of opening the package.
People Assume a Monitor Stand Riser Is Just a Shelf
Unlike a fixed plastic riser, each leg has its own push-button release: press it, slide the leg to one of the three notched heights, let go. You do all four to level the platform. It takes longer than flipping one switch, but it also means the stand doesn’t rock on an uneven desk the way a molded plastic base does. I put a full-size desktop tower on it and got zero wobble.
Leveling Four Legs by Hand Takes a Minute You Didn’t Plan For
Pushing each leg’s button individually to match all four heights is the one step that slows you down. It’s not hard, but it’s not instant either, you’re eyeballing level across four separate adjustments instead of one dial. Once it’s set you don’t touch it again, but that first setup took more attention than I expected from something billed as a 30-second assembly.
What’s Actually Underneath the Platform
The flat top has rows of vented holes, and that’s not decoration. If you’re putting a desktop computer on there, those holes let the heat disperse instead of trapping it against the metal. I noticed it also makes the whole stand a lot lighter than it would be otherwise, since you’re removing material everywhere those holes are punched. The legs themselves have rubber pads on the bottom so it doesn’t slip or scratch the desk, and the listing rates the platform to hold up to 44 lbs, steel frame with a waterproof, anti-rust coating.
My MacBook Air, a Trackpad, and a Keyboard, All at One Height
I set my MacBook Air on one stand at 4.92 inches, high enough that the screen sits near eye level without cranking my neck, and left the trackpad and keyboard on the desk below it. That arrangement works cleanly because the platform is 14.6 inches wide, so nothing hangs over the edge. The second stand went to the printer next to it, which is the real case for the 2-pack: two independent surfaces you can set to the same height or different ones, instead of crowding everything onto a single shelf.
Where It Sits Against Plain Plastic Risers
Steel with 3 height settings and 150 vent holes, a different category from the cheap plastic risers that dominate search results. This one’s steel, adjusts across 3 heights, and comes with 150 vent holes built for actual desktop towers, not just laptops. That’s a different category of product even though it gets shopped against the cheap plastic ones in search results. Amazon’s own numbers back up the demand here too, more than 2,000 of these sold in the past month, and today it’s sitting a little below its usual price over the last three months, which is worth checking before you buy.
The Phone Holder Built Into the Side

It comes with a phone holder that hangs off the side through holes built into the stand, and that’s one of those unique designs I haven’t seen anywhere else. You can orient it vertical or turn it horizontal depending on how you want to watch something while you work. Before you buy, know that you’re getting two stands, two sets of four legs, and this phone attachment, which means setup is really two small assemblies back to back, not one. Budget a few extra minutes if you’re doing both at once.
Pros
- Very sturdy with a full-size desktop or laptop on top
- Three height settings adjust independently per leg
- 150 vent holes actually disperse heat under a desktop computer
- 2-pack covers two separate stations, laptop plus printer in my case
- Phone holder attaches vertically or horizontally, a design detail I hadn’t seen before
Cons
- Leveling all four legs by hand to match height takes more fiddling than a single-dial riser
- Only 3 fixed height settings (4.13″, 4.92″, 5.7″), no continuous adjustment
- You’re assembling two stands plus a phone holder, not one simple unit
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use just one monitor stand riser instead of the whole 2-pack?
Yes, nothing requires you to use both at once. I used one for my MacBook Air and kept the second free for a printer, but you could easily shelve the spare for later or give it to someone else at a shared desk.
Does the monitor stand riser work on carpet or just a hard desk surface?
The listing states it can be used on desk, floor, or carpet, and it’s built to double as general storage shelving, not just a monitor platform. The rubber feet are there to keep it from sliding or scratching whatever surface it sits on.
Will replacement legs or parts be available if one breaks?
The brand states they’ll respond to questions within 1 day if something comes up, which suggests parts support exists, but I didn’t test that process myself. Worth reaching out directly if a leg fails before assuming you need to replace the whole stand.
Can this monitor stand riser replace a traditional monitor arm?
Not really, a monitor arm mounts to your desk edge and frees up the surface underneath, while this riser sits flat on the desk and uses that space for storage instead. If you want desk space back, an arm does that better. If you want storage plus height, this is the better fit.
