Berberine Supplement Review: No GI Issues When Stacked With Other Supplements
Two months on a 1,200 mg per serving berberine HCl supplement: no bloating, no gas, two capsules a day, and how it fits my stack.
The Berberine Supplement is worth buying if you already run a small daily supplement stack and want berberine HCl at a dose you can read off the label. 1,200 mg per serving across two vegetarian capsules, 60 capsules, 30 days. Two months in with zero stomach trouble. Buy.

Quick Verdict
Just under two months on this one, two capsules a day, and no gas, no bloating, nothing. That was my whole test and it passed it. 1,200 mg per serving, printed right on the label, no proprietary blend hiding the number.
Buy if you:
- Already take three or four supplements daily and want berberine added without stomach drama
- Are working on weight, exercise and eating better all at once
- Want the berberine HCl number stated, not buried in a blend
- Prefer vegetarian capsules and a simple once-daily dose with a meal
Skip if you:
- Hate taking two capsules to get one serving, there’s no single-capsule option here
- Want a one-bottle-lasts-months supply; 60 capsules is 30 days and then you reorder
- Are after a multi-ingredient metabolic formula, this is berberine and nothing else

Two Months In, Nothing Went Wrong
No gas, no bloating, no gastrointestinal issues at all. That’s the headline for me on this Berberine Supplement, because berberine is one of those ingredients where the stomach is the first thing to complain. Two capsules per day for less than two months, and my stomach stayed quiet the entire stretch. That’s the only test that matters with berberine, if your gut revolts, the bottle goes in the trash. Mine didn’t.
I’ve been trying to lose a little weight, work on my exercise, eat a little better. Berberine was the piece I added to all that. The Two-Capsule Catch
One serving is two capsules, so a bottle is gone in 30 days. That’s the friction here. 60 capsules sounds like a lot until you do the math and realize you’re reordering monthly. If you’re the kind of person who likes a bottle sitting in the cabinet for a season, this isn’t that. The pills themselves are about the normal size of most supplement pills, so swallowing two isn’t the issue. The reorder cadence is.
How It Landed in My Stack
Dropped it into a stack of essential amino acids and a multivitamin on day one, no loading phase, no timing games, no stomach drama. The berberine just became the third thing. Two capsules with a meal and that was it.
The first test: does it clash with what’s already in the daily stack? Does the stuff I’m adding play well with what’s already in there, or am I having problems? This passed that test. Definitely I tolerate this.
1,200 mg Per Serving, Printed On the Label
Every capsule holds 600 mg of berberine HCl, so the full 1,200 mg per serving comes from two of them. The berberine HCl per serving is sourced from Berberis aristata root and bark extract. That’s it. No blend, no long ingredient list of things at unlabeled amounts.
I care about that more than most people probably do, and it’s because of how I buy supplements now. If a label says “proprietary metabolic blend, 1,400 mg” I have no idea how much berberine I’m getting. Could be 50 mg of it and a pile of cheap filler. Here the number is the number.
On the brand itself, it has good reviews online, which is what got me to try it. Worth knowing before you order: it’s running a little above its usual price for the last three months, and it’s selling a bit slower than it was, ranking around #20,297 in Health & Household against a stronger 90-day average. Still over a thousand bought in the past month, so it’s not a dead listing. If the price matters to you, check what it’s going for today rather than assuming.
Switching Brands On Purpose
I’ve been taking berberine for a while now, not just this bottle. Switching brands on purpose is how I separate ingredient reactions from formulation problems. This one cleared the first hurdle, no tolerance issues across the full stretch, which is what gets something a permanent spot in the rotation.
What to Settle Before You Order
Dose first. 1,200 mg per serving is a high-dose berberine, so if you’ve never taken it, that’s the number to bring to your doctor, especially if you’re on anything for blood sugar. There’s one size and one strength here, so the decision is yes or no, not which version.

Second, be clear this is a single-ingredient product. It’s not going to cover chromium, cinnamon, or anything else some metabolic formulas throw in. For me that’s the appeal, since I’d rather stack the pieces myself and know what each one is doing. And berberine on its own isn’t the plan. It’s got to be a combination of all these things: the diet, the exercise, the rest of the stack.
Pros
- No gastrointestinal issues for me over roughly two months, no gas or bloating
- 1,200 mg of berberine HCl per serving, clearly labeled with no proprietary blend
- Pills are normal supplement size and easy to take
- Played well with the amino acids and multivitamin already in my daily stack
- Simple dosing, two capsules once a day with a meal
Cons
- Two capsules per serving means 60 capsules is only a 30-day supply
- Currently priced above its own three-month norm
- Single ingredient only, nothing else in the formula
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you split the two capsules across the day?
The label says take 2 capsules once daily with a meal, or as directed by a healthcare professional. I take both at once. If you want to split them morning and evening, that’s a question for your doctor, not something the bottle instructs.
Are the capsules vegetarian?
Yes, they’re vegetarian capsules at 600 mg of berberine HCl each. That matters if you’re avoiding gelatin, which a lot of supplement capsules still use.
Does it need to be taken with food?
The directions say with a meal. I’ve stuck to that and it’s probably part of why I had no stomach issues. Taking a high-dose berberine on an empty stomach is where people tend to run into trouble.
How should it be stored?
Normal supplement storage, cool and dry, cap on tight. Review the product label before use, since it carries the specific handling and warning information for this formula.
