The 3 Pack Waterproof Baby Bibs are worth buying if you feed a toddler aged 3 to 24 months and are sick of changing outfits mid-meal. Water sheets off the polyester, nothing sticks, and the reverse-sewn pocket lets you flip the bib inside out for a clean second side. Buy it.

Quick Verdict

Water sheets off these. Nothing sticks. We keep a bunch of them on the ready for weekends with the grandbabies, and the one that sold me is the pocket sewn backward so you can flip the whole bib inside out and get a clean second side mid-meal.

Buy if you:

  • Have grandbabies for the weekend and want spares on hand
  • Feed a toddler in the 3 to 24 month range who wears half the meal
  • Find stiff silicone bibs too rigid against a squirmy neck
  • Want a bib you can wipe off instead of throwing in the wash every time

Oh My God, This Is So Adorable

The checkerboard pattern stopped me mid-sentence on camera, I wasn’t expecting the colors to land that hard. We grabbed these for the grandkids and I didn’t expect much, a bib is a bib. Then I saw the checkerboard pattern in person and realized the reversible pocket wasn’t a gimmick: it’s what lets you flip to a clean side mid-meal without touching the drawer. Currently on Amazon; check today’s price and available colorways here.

So the first thing I noticed is the water. It sheets right off. It’s almost like a vinyl material, and nothing sticks to it. That matters because my toddlers have food on their face, on their lips, on their hands, on the high chair, on the floor and beneath them. These bibs do a great job keeping that off the clothes.

Around the neck there’s a Velcro attachment, so it goes on in about a second and comes off just as fast when a kid is done and squirming. That’s half the battle.

What Owning These Costs You After the Purchase

Close to nothing, because the surface doesn’t absorb. Water sheets off and nothing sticks, so most of the time a wipe is all it takes and the bib goes back on the ready. That’s the reason we keep a bunch of them staged instead of running a load of laundry after every feeding.

Three months, two grandbabies, weekend-after-weekend of purΓ©ed everything, no tears, no delamination, no fraying on any of the three bibs. Since we’ve been using them we have not had any issues. No tears, no delamination, no fraying after dozens of meals across two grandbabies over three months. No consumables, no refills, no parts to replace.

The Pocket Is Sewn Backward On Purpose

People see the reversed pocket and assume it’s a manufacturing flub. It isn’t. It’s the whole design.

Turn the bib around and you can see it’s got a little pocket there. You can put things on the inside, or, and this is the part I really like functionality-wise, you can turn that inside out and use it as a second side if they get the first side dirty. Flip it and you get a different pattern, a gray and white checkerboard on mine. Same bib, clean face, no trip to the drawer mid-meal.

The listing explains the mechanics: the pocket is sewn in reverse so it flips seamlessly, and once turned to the front it opens into a wider 3D shape and holds that structure. So the flip isn’t just cosmetic. The catching pocket is only a real catching pocket on the side that’s facing out. That’s the genius part of it for me, and it’s why I’d call these baby bibs for eating rather than just drool bibs.

Plenty of people have figured this out. Amazon has these sitting around #989 in Baby Products with more than 1,000 bought in the past month, which for a three-pack of bibs is a lot of high chairs.

What Bugs Me

You don’t get to choose the colors. They come in some wonderful, terrific colors and vibrant patterns, and I said on camera I’m going to try all the colors that they have, which is a nice way of saying I had to order again to get the ones I wanted. If you’ve got a specific nursery palette in mind, that’s a small annoyance.

The other thing: the pocket only does its job on the outward-facing side. Flip it for a clean face and you’ve got a fresh surface, but you’ve also just put the messy pocket against the kid. Not a deal-breaker. Worth knowing before you flip it in the middle of lunch.

Buy More Than One Pack

Three bibs goes faster than you think. We have a bunch of these on the ready because we use them quite a bit, and between two grandbabies and a weekend of meals, three gets thin. Definitely stock up on these.

Check the age range before you order. These are sized 3 to 24 months with an adjustable hook-and-loop shoulder closure, so a big three-year-old is going to outgrow the fit. And if you’ve been using silicone, the polyester here is softer against the neck, which matters on a kid who’s already fighting you.

Three colorful waterproof feeding bibs arranged on a white high chair tray in a sunlit kitchen setting

At roughly $4, 5 per bib in a three-pack, these cost less than a single Pottery Barn Kids bib and undercut the silicone alternatives that run $12, 16 apiece, while doing the same waterproofing job. Current pricing sits right about where it’s been for the past three months, so there’s no obvious reason to sit and wait. See it on Amazon for today’s number.

Pros

  • Water sheets right off, almost like vinyl, and nothing sticks to it
  • Reverse-sewn pocket flips inside out for a clean second side mid-meal
  • Velcro neck closure goes on and off fast
  • Held up quite well through repeated weekends with two grandbabies
  • Wonderful, vibrant checkerboard colors on both faces

Cons

  • Colors come as a set, so you can’t pick the three you want
  • Flipping to the clean side puts the dirty pocket against the child
  • Three bibs isn’t enough if you’re feeding more than one kid

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these safe against a baby’s skin for long wear?

Yes. They’re certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX, which means the fabric has been tested as free from harmful substances. That’s the certification you’d want for anything sitting against a baby’s neck through a whole meal.

Can I put these in the washing machine?

Most of the time you won’t need to. They’re 100% polyester with a waterproof surface, so food wipes off rather than soaking in. We mostly wipe and restage ours rather than running them through a wash cycle.

Will these work for a daycare or diaper bag?

Yes, and they’re better for it than silicone. Polyester folds flat into a bag instead of holding a rigid trough shape, so one lives in the grandkid bag at our house without taking up real estate.

Do they fit a newborn?

The stated range starts at 3 months. The hook-and-loop shoulder closure adjusts, but below three months you’re outside what it’s sized for, and a feeding bib isn’t doing much for a baby who isn’t self-feeding yet.
